Welcome to the Genetics Laboratory. Our facility is part of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. We provide clinical genetic testing for OU Physicians, OU Medical Center and many other medical providers across the United States.
Beyond clinical testing, the laboratory also conducts research in multiple disciplines, including congenital heart defects, Marinesco-Sjogren syndrome, Dandy Walker syndrome, and molecular characterization of unique chromosome rearrangements. As part of our committment to education, our laboratory hosts pathology residents and hematology fellows during their rotations. We also provide training to students who are working to obtain their Masters degree in Genetic Counseling. In 2015 we received accreditation from ABMGG for the Clinical Genetics Laboratory Training programs.
The last eighteen years have been an exciting time for our faculty and staff. The lab and clinical services continue to expand and yet we have not waivered from our focus on education and research. We will continue to further our knowledge of human genetics so that our patients can benefit from what we have learned.
