Constitutional FISH

 

We have listed FISH studies that are routinely requested by physicians. FISH analysis can be performed for almost any genetic disorder you may encounter. If you have a specific study in mind please contact our laboratory before sending a specimen.

Please refer to the Cytogenetics Requisition form when ordering FISH testing.

1p36 deletion syndrome

Angelman syndrome

Trisomies of Chromosomes 13, 18, and 21 (AneuVysion)

CHARGE syndrome

Cri-du-Chat syndrome

DiGeorge syndrome (I) 22q11.2

Kallmann syndrome

Klinefelter syndrome

Miller-Dieker syndrome

Prader-Willi syndrome

Smith-Magenis syndrome

Sotos syndrome

SRY gene deletion

Turner syndrome

Williams syndrome

Wolf-Hirschorn syndrome

Routine FISH analysis does not detect partial trisomies or other structural rearrangements that do not involve the probe region analyzed. FISH assays were developed and their performance determined by this laboratory. Some FISH probes have not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA has determined that such clearance or approval is not necessary. These tests are intended for clinical use
