FISH for Lymphoma

 

There are many different types of Lymphomas; large cell, small cell, mixed cell, mantle cell, and Burkitts lymphoma just to name a few. They are characterized by the uncontrolled growth of B lymphocytes. Common chromosome changes associated with lymphoma:

c-MYC 8q24 rearrangement
c-MYC/IGHG1 t(8;l4) 
CCND1 t(11;14) 
BCL2/IGHG1 t(14;18)
BCL6 3q27 rearrangement
MALT1 18q21 rearrangement
MALT1/IGHG1 t(14;18)
MALT1/API2 t(11;18)
ALK 2p23 rearrangement

Methodology: Fluorescent in Situ Hybridization (FISH) Analysis

Purpose: Confirmation of Clinical Diagnosis/Monitor During Treatment
